LG Launches Two Touchscreen Phones in India

LG has announced the launch of two new mid-range touchscreen handsets in India. The new models include the Cookie Fresh GS290 and Cookie Plus GS500v.

Targeted at young users, both the phones boast of contemporary features. Let us delve into what features these devices have in store for you.



We start with the GS290. This phone boasts of a 2 megapixel camera and a 240x400 pixel 3-inch LCD touchscreen. Other features include one touch social networking, a built in Oxford dictionary, 3.5mm jack, video editing and something LG calls an A Class UI. The front panel in comes in different colors while the rear panel of most handsets is in gray or black color. The GS290 comes with 28MB of internal memory that can be increased up to 16GB using microSD cards.




As for the GS500V, it comes with a 3 megapixel camera. This one sports a 3-inch LCD touchscreen display and has features similar to that of the GS290 including One touch social networking, editable Screen shot, MMS and a 3 Way User Interface. This phone also supports 3G networks and comes with Facebook Auto update feature. There is a micro USB port thrown in as well. It comes with 30MB of internal memory that can be expanded using microSD cards upto 8GB.

Now for the prices. The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 costs Rs. 6,199 while the LG Cookie Plus GS500v will retail at Rs. 7,999. It is interesting to note that the lesser priced GS290 officially supports more memory!
